Opinion
Her sound is based on her voice, on the way she almost under-pronounces the lyrics, on the slight manipulation of the velum to produce more nasal timbres, on the high notes that seem to become even higher as her songs progress and on the deliberate, slightly breathy vocals.
I prefer “Confession” over the rest of her songs, as it makes me feel that it’s the closest to her ideally unique and individualistic sound. It has all her artistic ‘fingerprint’ high notes, that aren’t scattered throughout; they are rather strategically placed to create emotional build-ups. “Confession” seems to have more structure, while being melancholic and ever so slightly bright. I liked the chorus, the guitar phrases that acted as fillers, the changes of the drums, the vivid cadences. Not only did everything work really nicely together, it was a successful collaboration between Momosu Momosu and Shirai Ryoumei.
